Hello.
I started making Shaving Brushes as a hobby in 2020.
Initially, I made brushes exclusively out of hardwoods that I could source (maple, walnut, birch, black locust, rosewood, etc). I used them myself and gave some to friends in the Wet Shaving Community/Hobby.
Photos of my brushes on social media led to folks reaching out and asking for one. Order requests trickled in and my brush making skills progressively improved.
In July of 2021, I opened an Etsy shop and started offering my brushes on a bigger, global platform. I also transitioned to mostly resin brushes.
Trotter Brushes gained significant interest in 2022. This prompted me to take on a Retailer, The Shave Supply.
In November of 2022, I elected to move away from the Etsy platform and launch my own Website: TrotterHandcrafts.com where Customers could find more detailed information on my brushes and even request a specific brush build.
In 2023, I was honored to be named Lather Talk's "Brush Maker of the Year".
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to send my brushes to customers all over the World. I feel an incredible amount of personal satisfaction seeing people enjoy something I made.
All Trotter Brushes are entirely handmade from scratch. I pour my own resin blanks, hand turn them on a Lathe and sand/polish each one to perfection. I even personally laser engrave my own stainless steel maker coins in-house.
