Q. How should I use and care for my T1 Badger Knot?
A. I recommend soaking your badger knot in warm (not hot) water for 10 minutes prior to use. Lather gently and avoid aggressively smashing the knot into the soap, bowl and your face. After your shave, be sure to completely rinse all the soap out of your brush (again, not with hot water). Hold on tight to your brush handle and flick the excess water out of the knot. Let your brush completely dry in an open-air area (not a closed cabinet or drawer). You don’t need to hang your brush upside down to dry. It’s fine to let it sit upright.
It’s a good practice to occasionally shampoo your badger knot hair with a high quality, “clarifying” shampoo. This will clean and remove any soap residue, therefore prolonging the life of the knot. I personally use Paul Mitchell “Shampoo Two” Clarifying.
Q. Is making brushes your full-time job?
A. No, but maybe someday!
